This is what DYNE can offer.
But let us look at these new restaurants first! Here are Vancity's top 10 newest, coolest restaurants to try!

The newest EU import in town – Bravo opened in Vancouver last year – and already it has garnered ‘Best New Restaurant’ from Vancouver Magazine. The only problem is the food is so amazing.
Though Bravo uses traditional continental flavor profiles, his technique is progressive – you’ll find showstopper plates of smoked duck breast with charred onion puree, and pan-seared ling cod with mussel broth emulsion, all prepared with flourish and forward-thinking ingenuity.
Sleek, chic interiors surround Bravo’s cultured cuisine. Pristine expanses of poured concrete, cool art installations, dark leather, jagged lines.

Gary’s is one of numerous newly opened restaurants that is the talk of the town and is serving up simply exquisite European classics based on seasonally local products.
House-smoked trout risotto and pan-seared duck breast with blackberry gastrique are some offerings. At Gary’s, rustic time-honored continental fare is given a twist – a progressive seven-course menu tasting.
Besides the terrific food, there’s an intimate feel while still being bustling. It’s just a small space with candles, brick walls and antique furnishings. Service is friendly.
Book your table now for an evening of European inspired cuisine backed by an insatiable gastronomic passion that plays upon all the senses. Gary’s promise is to ensure that you leave fully sated, yearning for more. No wonder Gary’s is one of the hippest new locales for a night out in Vancouver.

At Lila, two of Vancouver’s star chefs – Meeru Dhalwala (Vij’s) and Shira Blustein (The Acorn) – are offering a hip new Indian that retains the vibrant flavors and textures of traditional cooking.
Together, they’ve built a roster of Indian-infused sharing plates, like chickpea pansies with mango chutney and butter chicken gravy with ‘masala poutine’. The Japanese-influenced cook Lila’s dishes fuse traditional Indian flavors with global cooking techniques and modern twists.
The cosmopolitan fact that the interior design is appropriately urban and hip complements and is complemented by the fact of the vibrant cuisine. This is what good interior design is: a seamless and swanky cosmopolitan space, with exposed brick, textured fabrics, and striking light fixtures.

Osteria is the Italian word for a restaurant specialising in traditional food, and Elio Volpe offers traditional foods from Italy in a setting that feels like little more than Italy itself, with its charming interior. This is a new Italian spot that specialises in handmade pastas, pizzas and more.
Everything is made onsite from scratch with top-quality overseas imported ingredients. Share platters of hefty cacio e pepe, creamy risottos and delicate wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas.
The cosy design – the hanging copper pots, the bare-brick walls, tarnished oil-lamp pendants – will have you thinking you’ve wandered into a secret trattoria near Pisa.
If you want to feel like you’re really in Italy (apparently you do), be sure to reserve a table at Osteria Elio Volpe where you’ll get full-on Italian comfort food served in the most laidback surroundings imaginable.
Location: 1079 Mainland St, Yaletown St, Vancouver, BC
Dovetail – with its range of international cuisines and easygoing, communal feel – is a complete antidote to that. The recently opened restaurant has a menu with a bit of everything, from around the globe, to boot.
There’s masaman shrimp curry, lamb ragout agnolotti, tempura fried cauliflower, and a safari of plates through global flavours. Not every dish is a grand slam, but most are easily homerun-worthy.
Dovetail’s industrial chic and welcoming service lead me to think that even though their food is internationally inspired, it’s still good for those nights out when you just want to hang with your friends and chill. Swing by and grab a group of friends to sample their internationally inspired fare.
Location: 1122 W Hastings St, Vancouver, BC
Sitting quietly among the taller buildings of downtown Vancouver, Showcase Restaurant features simply presented food with astute attention to ingredients.
A selection of citrus-glazed salmon, braised beef short ribs, and wild mushroom risotto is available on the menu. The textures are thoughtfully considered, the cooking techniques are meticulous, and the flavours are sharp and balanced.
Add a touch of Showcase’s laid-back chic, friendly service and fair rates, and you’ll understand why locals are packing the place every night.
This place is a gem that shouldn’t be overlooked: a culinary wow in a swirling atmosphere that’s lively yet relaxed place.
Location: 1535 Johnston St, Vancouver, BC
Sitting right on Granville Island, the open kitchen at the new Sandbar Seafood might be the busiest one in town – with a view to match.
Not surprisingly, the stars of the menu are fresh, sustainably-caught seafood choices from British Columbian waters, including seared scallops with fish roe butter, cedar-planked salmon, Sooke clam chowder and more.
The polished-but-casual interior within is restored by the water views from outside. Many tables face windows for panoramas of the sunset over False Creek.
Once again, fantastic seafood is present: head down to the cruise terminal for the new Sandbar Restaurant, ‘local in spirit and global in taste’, set against a backdrop of bustling waterside industry.
Location: 333 Menchions Mews, Vancouver, BC
Vast windows of the new Lift Bar Grill, soaring above Vancouver’s downtown waterfront, earn the restaurant’s name. 3148
And looking out from floor-to-ceiling windows, diners can enjoy the views of Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains from almost any table as they feast on Lift’s current West Coast menu.
Inside, it’s swish yet casual. Everything is lit by wood and steel and stone; views add drama; the accompanying wine and cocktail lists lend a context of sophistication and welcome.
When you want views to go with your regionally influenced food, head to the new rooftop restaurant at Lift – the place to take out-of-towners for a stunning night on the town.
Location: 568 Beatty St, Vancouver, BC
It might be almost 20 years old, but Chambar has happily held down the Vancouver fort for years now. It makes the list here because it recently relocated to a new downtown site last year.
And the place hasn’t skimped on its trademark Belgian-inspired plates; you’ll crave those, too – especially spicy mussels and fries or rabbit pappardelle with black garlic.
The high, brick-walled space is inviting but casually elegant and, paired with Chambar’s delicious food and friendly, neighborly atmosphere (including reasonable prices), makes it just the kind of place where you can take a first date — or just your friends or family, any time.
This relocated Vancouver favorite is still worth seeking out. Chambar’s unique atmosphere and high-powered European-inspired cooking still explain its staying power.
Location: 2801 Main Street, Vancouver, BC
For noodle hounds, the outpost to Vancouver of this Japanese chain, Afuri Ramen + Dumpling, boasts a silky signature Yuzu Shio Ramen.
Afuri also offers a raft of other trophy noodles, from spicy Tom Yum noodle soup, to miso ramen, to snappy dish of their namesake juicy dumplings.
An interior that manages to be clean and modern without feeling clinical, and the option to dine there with some new friends on a quiet weeknight thanks to efficient counter service, make Afuri a particularly clear destination for Vangaten.
Though Vancouver has had ramen bars for a few years, Afuri is distinguished by its focused menu and its globally lauded signature broth.
